Minimally Invasive Surgery
Minimally invasive surgery is the newest trend in advanced surgical care. For many procedures, no longer are lengthy incisions necessary. Now with advanced lapraroscopy, surgical procedures can be performed through tiny incisions, less than an inch in length. Often times these incisions do not require a suture to heal, which leads to shorter hospital stays and less patient discomfort. More importantly, this technique allows patients to return to normal activity much sooner. Although minimally invasive technique is not available for all surgeries, it is rapidly becoming more popular. Be sure to ask your surgeon if this is an option for you.
